Success never happens by accident. As a matter of fact, you can find the secret to so many successes in the daily routine that one does. I’ve found that the things I do from when I wake up to when I go to sleep can have lasting impacts on how my day goes all around. You will never change your life until you change something that you do daily. In this blog post, I’ll be sharing some of the things I do and how some of these habits has helped me gain an edge on the days that I have ahead.
Now I’m not going to name the things that I do that just about everybody does on a daily such as wake up, brush my teeth, take a shower, etc. I’m going to be stating things that I’ve added to my routine over time that I have found to help reshape my reality. Hopefully, all it will take is one to understand how impactful these words I’m about to type will have on one’s life.
To start the day off, one of the first things I do is read the goals I have for myself and meditate for around 30 minutes as soon as I wake up. The book “Seven Spiritual Laws of Success” by Deepak Chopra goes into deep discussion of the power of meditation. One of the reasons that I do this and what I’ve found help me with this is that it gives me a chance to know what I have to look forward to in the day. I’m big on reading goals daily because I believe that what you put into your mind consistently and asking the universe exactly what it is that you want, the universe will give you hints inside your intuition on what you need to do throughout the day to make those goals happen.

In my last post, I talked about how miracles can be a common thing for the common man. This is one of the big ways to allow miracles to happen in your life. I’ll explain the science of this later on in the blog. After doing this, I will do some breathwork exercises. What I do varies depending on the type of time I have in the day. I can write a blog post in itself about the importance of breathwork and the effects breathwork has on the human body that the physical senses can’t see. If that peaks any of the reader’s interest I will go into the sciences and discussions about that in another blog post (Let me know in the comments if you are interested).
Later on in the morning, I will also look to stretch or do some type of yoga session I find on youtube. There are tons of youtube videos that have stretching videos that range from around 10 minutes to a whole hour. Stretching releases energy blockages that you potentially have and this allows yourself to flow more naturally throughout the day. We all have chakra systems within our bodies and when one has certain chakra points blocked, it can affect your whole mood for the day. You don’t really notice this until you actually do a yoga session for yourself consistently. You’ll feel it the most when you decide to skip a day.
In the afternoon, what I do varies depending on what I have to do for the day. With me being in season, it’s tough to have a consistent routine with doing some of these habits on a daily, but I make sure I get some form of self-care in in the afternoons.
In the summer, when I would have the most free time, I would get some form of qigong in in the middle of the day. Qigong is an ancient knowledge that not many people are aware of. If you look at it from a glance without the knowledge of what it is, it can look kind of funky and different. I will not lie. The reader can take the time to do their research on what this is and the health benefits of this on their own. I will plan on having a blog post on this alone in the future. If you didn’t know, energy is everything. The more energy you have, the more you will be able to get finished in the day. The more opportunity you’ll also have to allow miracles to manifest in your life. This is a practice that for the moment I really only have time for in the summertime because the basketball schedule barely allows me to get that finished in the day.
I spend my time in the afternoon instead, reading or journaling. Journaling is one of those things that you don’t appreciate it until some time has passed. To be able to write down my thoughts and then to be able to analyze how much I’ve changed as a person by the way I think over some months is really cool. It’s also a good way to track if I’m vibrating on a positive frequency or not. It feels good to be able to put my thoughts into words and then to be able to allow those certain thoughts to be on that page and be out of my mind. It helps me be very present with whatever activities I have going on in the day.

With reading, I was a person that never enjoyed reading and would avoid it at all cost. Especially when I finished college. What I come to learn is that the reason why I didn’t enjoy reading in the past was because I was forced to read things that did not catch my attention. There are books on all sorts of topics out there. A book that I would recommend for anybody is “Rich Dad Poor Dad” and “Think and Grow Rich”. All it will take is one person to take this to heart and go out and read these books I believe and it will cause a complete 180 shift in your reality. Not to get too off-topic…
In the evening times at the end of the day, I will always look to do my breathwork exercises to wind my body down and allow my mind to be calm. It’s pretty common to have a pretty active mind at the end of the night because of all the things the mind has accumulated throughout the day. With that, I also will read my goals and meditate before I end the day. Remember how I said reading goals was one of the biggest things that allowed one to have miracles happen in their life? The science: Your heart is a way for the spirit to communicate to the physical body what it truly believes. Your feelings create feelings from the heart that then the heart turns those feelings into thoughts that get transferred to the brain. And that’s how we are all able to receive thoughts and ideas from our intuition and the universe. Do you ever notice how you always feel a certain way before you say something? So when you read your goals on what you want from the universe consistently and BELIEVE that your goals will manifest themselves, you will have sparks of ideas and hunches on how you will be able to achieve those goals as the days come and go. “Believe and it shall be done onto you.” Sound familiar?
Two books that go into great detail on the science of this are “Think and Grow Rich” and “The 10x Rule”. The toughest part about all of this is that YOU have to believe that you can do it, because if you don’t believe in yourself, you’re only proving yourself right. What do you want to be right about? Do you want to believe that you can achieve amazing things, or do you want to see yourself as unlucky or unfortunate and give yourself all the excuses in the world into why you can’t do it? It’s tough. It’s not easy. As I’m typing this up now I have challenges that I face within myself that I go through based on the things that I come across with days to come. But life is all about the experience. No matter who you see in life or idolize/look up to, we all have good experiences and bad experiences. We all get balanced out by life, but what’s most important is to focus on the good that you have. Have gratitude. Once you focus on the good things you have and are consistently grateful for what you have and where you are, that’s when the universe will give you more. Being content with what you have, but desiring much much more. Give yourself something to aim for in life, you’ll surprise yourself I promise.
Here’s why you’ll surprise yourself.
The human mind can’t know what the future is. Only the universe knows how your goals will happen because what you want has to go in harmony with how the world flows. The only thing you have to know is that if you believe in something so hard that nothing can sway your mind from believing it will happen, it will happen. You will have all types of tests and trials that come your way throughout your journey and they will convince you that it cannot happen, but all that is is your mind and ego playing tricks on you. Whenever you hit a trial or something doesn’t go your way, learn from it and keep on pushing forward.

Now, this is MY personal routine that I have found helped me over time. However, this isn’t like the ultimate formula and how to be great. This is just what I have found worked for me and I’m still finding things that I can do to make myself better every day. It’s tough because I’m finding myself having to adjust to the things that I do in the day especially since being on this NBA schedule. The time that’s consumed by it is really no joke, but I love it.
My routines aren’t something that I just started doing out of nowhere one day. I started with a small routine like reading just 5 minutes a day, and then just kept building on from it. Most of that came from the things I’ve learned or heard from successful people that have made and a lot of the things that I do on a daily come from my intuition. Learn to listen to your intuition. You know that voice that tells you to pick up the trash you threw on the street when you should’ve thrown it in the trash can? That’s your intuition A.K.A your higher self. Your higher self will lead you to greatness. You can get in the best and most consistent communication when you meditate. This is just from personal experience I’m speaking from. You could have your own way of getting into consistent communication with your higher self. Whatever works best for you! That’s the ultimate thing to take. Because whatever you believe to be true, whatever it is, you are right! What do you want to be right about?
