New Year, New Opportunities

Malcolm and I met for the first time back in 2013 when I was a senior in high school and he was a freshman at the University of Illinois. He was my host on my official visit to the school. Meaning, he was assigned to me by the coaching staff to show me around campus and make me feel welcome. Luckily for him, I was already committed at the time, so he didn’t have to do much convincing.

From the moment I got to school, we were friendly, but I wouldn’t say we were best friends by any means. However as time went on, we became closer and closer. So close that we started a group chat with him, my two brothers, and me (we still use this to this day). There were many times Malcolm would go over to my parent’s house without even telling me. In other words, we became family.

Our friendship started on my official visit and ultimately, it blossomed when we were in school together, but it didn’t end there. To this day we stay in contact weekly, if not daily.

There is always something we are talking about. We will talk about a range of topics from basketball, our living situations, family, real estate, and so much more.

A big thing for us has always been that we want to be known as more than just basketball players. We want to be able to contribute in different ways to society and grow in other ways of life.

Then recently, we had an idea.

We decided we wanted to start a blog where we could share our insights on the world today. We want to be able to express what we have gone through in our basketball lives and even our personal lives as well. So many people see us as just basketball players, and that is great, but there is more to us than just that. We are regular people with goals and ambitions just like everyone else.

So, we have started this blog to share our experiences of what we have encountered throughout our lifetime. That will include our college and professional careers, but also the struggles of our daily lives, our perspectives on the world, and anyway we can help challenge someone and make their day better.

We are an open book and we want to be able to share that with anyone who wants to listen.

How This Will Work:

We will be posting every Tuesday and rotating who writes every week. So, we will both be making two posts a month.

What We Ask From You:

For those that are interested, we ask that you subscribe to our website. You will be able to find a subscription box at the bottom of every page. Just fill in your email and you will receive our new posts every Tuesday directly to your email. That’s it. It’s free and easy!

Additionally, we want to be able to engage with people that want to be involved as well. We ask that anyone that has questions that they want answered or has an opinion about anything we say, to please share. You can interact with us through our Contact Us page or you can reach out through social media.

Thank You:

For those of you that have followed us for a while – family, friends, fans, etc, we want to thank you for all of your support! It has truly been amazing over our careers to interact with so many people all around the world and to be an influence to so many.

For those that are new, welcome! We hope that we can give you a little bit of an insight into our lives and help challenge you as well along the way.

Additionally, for those that want a little more info on us, please check out our About Us page. We go into a little detail about who we are and how we got to where we are now.

Other than that, that is it!

We look forward to sharing with you all as we go along our journey.

Take care,

Michael Finke
