Optimize Your Well Being

Periodically, we are going to start having guest authors write on our site about their different experiences and expertise. So, for this week we are pleased to welcome Connor Mapes. Enjoy:

My name is Connor Mapes and I’m a Health & Wellness Consultant.

I have an undeniable passion for helping people improve their well-being. For the past 6 years, I have spent countless hours researching and trialing how to live a more optimal life. Whether you’re an athlete, corporate employee, or stay-at-home mom, you are a performer. You have a purpose for your life and it can be optimized through wellness.

I look at wellness as a 3-lens approach.

1 – Optimized Well-Being

When we make the choice to participate in daily movement, and consume nutrients that nourish our body, we naturally become revitalized. This revitalization has a snowball effect. We start to notice our mental and emotional well-being increase, which leads to greater clarity for self-awareness. The goal for performers is to be efficiently effective at our craft. When we optimize our well-being, we allow ourselves a greater chance at succeeding.

2 – Proactive > Reactive

We live in a world where emphasis is on a reactive approach, rather than a proactive one. I’m a firm believer that is completely backwards. When we respond to our health reactively, we do ourselves a disservice. Simply put, take a proactive approach by continuously giving your body what it needs to perform on a daily basis. Don’t wait until something is wrong to make it right.

3 – Your Health is Bigger Than Just You

Taking care of yourself is bigger than just you. When we optimize our well-being and take a proactive approach to our health, we are making a direct impact on those we love, and spend time with. In order to effectively show up for our partner, family, and friends, we must take care of ourselves on a daily basis. When we fail to do so, we are doing a disservice not only to ourselves, but to those who depend on us. Your health is at the forefront of the impact you make on others.

Making time for your health is the greatest thing you can do for your life. You have the opportunity every single day to optimize your well-being physically, mentally and emotionally. You deserve to feel good. Now go make it happen.

Be well, my friend.

Connor
