Self Reflection

As I type this blog post, I write this as almost a letter to myself to reflect on how my mind is operating and how my course of actions throughout the days are affected based on the principles that I preach. I enter each day with the waking mindset of conquering the day. There are battles that I go through from within to help push myself to new heights. Unlock and become a version of myself that I never knew I could become. How do I keep elevating and becoming the best version of myself? With knowledge and wisdom. What’s the difference between the 2?

With knowledge, one becomes smarter and more aware of what’s going on in one’s particular setting or environment. You know what to look for as far as having that awareness piece added to whatever puzzle you’re trying to figure out. Without the knowledge, you’re just stuck with what you know. We should all know that what you know is only what you know. Where can knowledge be found? It’s a beautiful time we’re living in now when it comes to having the access to learn new things because there’s an unlimited amount of resources almost everywhere you look. Books have always been a fundamental tool in gaining more knowledge. You look throughout the years and the greatest minds have always been known to be heavy readers and thinkers. Youtube has also allowed now more than ever for people to learn things. Not everything that everyone puts on there is 100% true. I always go into things understanding that there are half-truths with everything you see out there. But the more you spend time researching a certain subject or idea, the more similarities and commonalities you’ll find within the topic or subject. There’s a science behind everything.

With wisdom, one becomes smarter and more aware through the experience one has achieved with the knowledge now learned. This is where most people grow in the areas of their lives because wisdom can only be achieved through applied knowledge. There’s only a small percentage of people who applies the knowledge that has come across them. There’s an even smaller percentage of people that stick with the journey of applying the knowledge and allowing it to become a full experience because people will stop whenever things become difficult, challenging, or even when things start to get unfamiliar.

What happens when you don’t get the results you expected after the first attempt? What happens when you don’t get the results you expected after the 10th attempt? How do you react once you get a breakthrough of success? There are a million hypothetical questions that can be made throughout the journey. With each turn and with each hypothetical that gets answered you have now gained more wisdom than you had before based on the experience.

It’s not easy. It’s one thing to read about how to become a better version of myself, but to actually put in the work consistently is a different battle. The word is consistency. The human mind always looks for quick fixes and easier ways to go about things because that’s how we automatically think. It’s part of why we’re able to evolve. Always looking for bigger and better things that will make our lives more convenient in the quickest way possible. The grind is something that will never evolve into a quick and easy fix. It’s important to understand this because the grind will always take countless amounts of hours and consistent dedication. Most of the time things happen in a compound effect. Slowly building up until one day out of nowhere you see a breakthrough in performance. It takes time and patience. Don’t be mistaken or fooled once you have that quick hit of success. Stay grounded and stay humble throughout the grind.

The last thing is to have faith. Faith is the evidence of things hoped for. The evidence of things not seen. Have faith in yourself. No matter what the circumstance or outcome of any situation, stay true and believe in what you believe in. The ego will give you a million reasons why not to believe what you believe in. Always stay true to your heart and what you feel. Use your mind to figure out solutions to the things you desire in life. Don’t let your ego-mind trick you into thinking you’re not worthy or good enough. This is the battle everyone faces. The constant battle within one’s self.

So, how will I keep elevating and keep becoming the best version of myself? Keep putting myself in situations that will make me uncomfortable and that will force me to grow in different areas. I have time to be comfortable whenever I’m retired. Well, maybe. For now, why not see what I can become?
