What deems a successful person? Do you believe that a person comes across success through luck and chance of a situation or do you believe that a person has willed their way into the things they desire in life by doing things totally different than the norm? I think the answer to that question may depend on the type of power you believe you have in yourself. I say this because if you believe that someone was able to do something different than the norm, then that means you can learn from that individual and you can potentially add on and apply it to your everyday living.
I personally believe that the definition of a successful person is someone who knows how to get what they want in life. A lot of successful people have some of the biggest houses and the fanciest cars, but some successful people don’t have much at all, because that’s all they really want.
So the question to first ask is, what do you want? It sounds simple but this requires doing inner-thinking and really thinking, “What do you want?”. Don’t have the thought of thinking about what you can’t have. Whenever you focus your energy on what you can’t have and why you can’t have it, that is what you will manifest in your reality. Every person has a secret power that whether you are aware of it or not, you are using on an everyday basis. So, what is it?

That secret power that most people are either aware of or not is the power of your belief and your imagination. It’s not for me to convince you that success is possible for anyone or if it’s mere luck or chance. What I am saying is whether you believe it to be skill or luck, you’re right. That’s the secret power. So the real question is, what do you want to be right about?
We are all conscious biased. We all have the desire to prove that we are right about what we believe and will do anything to prove ourselves right. This is how the ego protects itself. My suggestion would be to listen to those successful people who have spoken out about how they attained their successes. I love listening to motivational speakers like Les Brown, Earl Nightingale, Steve Harvey, Jim Rohn, and others. They all say pretty much similar things in different ways. The one message that I found in them speaking, is that you can do it. You can be the one. But it starts with you.
As humans, we have this unique ability to go for something and to become something. We have the ability to change our circumstances and our environment by the way we think. I’m not saying that this is easy. As a matter of fact, it’s the opposite. It’s probably one of the most difficult things you can do. It takes discipline and work to change your habits to allow yourself to become. Success does not far exceed personal development. We all have to do this type of self-examination. The ultimate question that you have to answer is are you willing to become the person it takes to get what you want?

Matthew 7:7-8 says “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened”.
The most encouraging thing about this journey is that your ability will grow to match what you want in life. It is not easy, but it is well worth it for the individual that puts in the time and work. The funny thing is that luck works more for the one that believes that they deserve success more than the individual who doesn’t. But all of this is just my opinion and belief. My opinion and belief is only my opinion and belief.
The real question is what do you believe success to be, luck or skill? Whatever you believe, you’re right.
